EDLD 5363 is the Mulimedia and video class. When I first started it, I was very nervous about having to make a video and photostory. Dr. Abernathy holds several web conference throughout the week to answer any questions we have and to also fill us in on the course. I found the information she had to share very helpful and she is also very supportive of our efforts. Dr. A explained that the reason we work in groups is for our benefit in the class and so we aren't trying to do everything alone. Many people in today's society just want to do it themselves so they know it is done right, but mostly done their own way. It is important to be able to collaborate in a group.
The most frustrating part about the web conference is not the cutting in and out of video, but the repetitive questions that people ask. So many of the things asked, Dr. A had already talked about. There were also a lot of questions asked that could be answered if the person just read the assignment thoroughly. Now, I'm not saying I know it all but I really try to make sure I ask an important question that also benefits the group, not just myself.
Now that I have used Photostory 3, I am so excited about it. It was very user friendly and made me look like a video expert. I showed my video to some teachers I work with and they were amazed at how beautiful it turned out. I am not so overwhelmed or nervous about this class anymore.
